PRESOLICITATION NOTICE (FAR 12.201?1(c)(2)) Presolicitation Notice Agency: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office: Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Program: Agriculture Research Service (ARS) Notice Type: Presolicitation FAR Authority: FAR 12.201?1(c)(2) – Simplified Procedures NAICS: 334516- Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing PSC: 6640- Laboratory Equipment and Supplies 1. Description of Requirement FSIS intends to solicit quotations directly from suppliers for one (1) Versatile Compound Upright Microscope and supporting accessories. The acquisition will be conducted using commercial item procedures under FAR Part 12 and simplified acquisition procedures. This purchase is at or below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) and therefore qualifies for the streamlined posting and solicitation process described at FAR 12.201?1(c)(2). 2. Method of Solicitation (Required by FAR 12.201?1(c)(2)) In accordance with FAR 12.201?1(c)(2), FSIS will: Post this presolicitation notice in the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE/SAM.gov). Solicit quotations directly from at least three (3) sources. Whenever practicable, seek quotes from two sources not included in the previous solicitation. A formal public RFQ will not be posted, as simplified procedures allow direct solicitation for acquisitions at or below the SAT. 3. Set?Aside Determination Full and Open 4. Estimated Solicitation Timeline FSIS anticipates issuing the RFQ on or around September 24, 2026 directly to identified suppliers. Quotes will be requested via email and evaluated in accordance with FAR 12.203 and FAR 13.106. 5. No Response Required to This Notice This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ). Vendors do not need to respond to this presolicitation posting. Only vendors contacted directly by FSIS will receive the RFQ package. 6.
